Administrative appeals, foreclosures, personal injury suits, and garnishments are among the types of cases filed in the Civil Division of the Court of Common Pleas. The clerk is responsible for initiating and maintaining case files, the collection and distribution of filing fees, the costs and seating of both petit and grand juries. This office is also responsible for the intake and filing of Civil Protection Orders.
Pleadings transmitted by fax are acceptable provided they comply with Local Rule 17. Filings requiring a deposit must be mailed or presented in-person.
Individuals seeking certified copies of documents should note that the cost is $2.00 per page.

The Criminal Division handles all indictments (accusations) returned by the grand jury. After a case file has been initiated, this office creates and issues either an arrest warrant or a summons instructing the defendant to appear at a specific time and place. Bail bonds are processed, executed, and witnessed by the clerks of this division.
The Criminal Division is responsible for the arraignment docket, the assignment of judges to cases, reporting convictions to the Bureau of Criminal Investigation, Identification Division and transmitting driver license suspensions to the Bureau of Motor Vehicles. This office also collects and distributes all costs, fines, and restitution.
